Professionally, Sonali S. Srivastava is a patent lawyer and works as a Division Counsel at AbbVie, Inc.

Throughout the years, Sonali has created opportunities to explore performing arts and socially relevant issues through performing arts.  As a Cultural Secretary of two premier educational institutions in India, the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi and Miranda House, Delhi University, Sonali worked to raise the profile of performing arts, Indian classical music and social justice issues through organizing and hosting cultural festivals, classical music performances of SPICMACAY, street plays, choreographies and debates.

Sonali is an admirer and a connoisseur of performing arts.  She has been learning and performing the Indian classical drums, “ Tabla,” for over 35 years.  initiated into music by legendary Pt. Sharda Maharaj, at a very young age, she has continued to pursue learning under the tutelage of Sri Raj Deshmukh, and the Doyen of Lucknow Gharana, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri over the last 10 years.  Sonali has received Sangeet Prabhakar Diploma in Music (Tabla) from the pre-eminent Indian University, Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad.

​Sonali is a co-founder and a member of the board of directors for Tribhang, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of globally relevant issues through performing arts.   Sonali is also a co-founder and member of the board of directors for Kala Eternal Rhythms, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to Indian Classical percussion music.  Previously, Sonali has also served as a member of the board of directors for YWCA, Young Women’s Christian Association of Janesville, WI.
