Overall mental health issues

Happy Saturday!

Today’s post will be the last regarding the youth stories series. The topic for today is a general discussion about mental health issues teens are facing to wrap it all up. As teens, our lives are changing almost everyday. Whether it be because of school, work, or family issues, we feel a range of emotions and feel as if no one else understands. This includes anxiety, fatigue, confusion, stress, sadness, loneliness, etc. The list is endless. There is so much going on in the world lately, that it’s become hard to manage these emotions or figure out the cause of them. The most important thing to know is that your feelings should never be dismissed and it’s okay to feel how you feel. Being a teenager is hard, and it will get better. There is a lot we can do as teens to manage our emotions and erase the stigma around mental health. First, take a deep breath when you feel nervous, anxious, etc. Second, find someone you trust to talk to. I find that talking to my family and letting them know why I’m feeling anxious makes me feel better. You can always reach out to Sanjeevani about anything. Also, find a hobby to distract your mind. You can exercise, go for a drive, paint, or anything else that allows you to relieve your tensions. Lastly, remember that mental health is just as important as physical health. Spread the word that mental health matters. Educate yourself more about mental health. Reach out to your friends and family to make sure they’re doing okay, and take it easy on yourself. You are doing the best you can, and that’s what counts.
