Madhu has been an active member of the social, cultural and educational sphere of the Chicagoland area for over 40 years. After many years as a registered dietitian and a free-lance writer, she started a career in public education and served as a junior high science teacher and curriculum director and retired as the director of science, math and health programs from a large suburban school district.
With a passion for social and community service, she has shared her organizational and management skills while serving on the boards of Apna Ghar, Arya Samaj of Chicagoland, Hindu Satsang, etc. She served on the Naperville Library Board of Trustees for six years, the last two as its president. In addition to serving on the board of Sanjeevani, she is currently serving as the president of the Club of Indian Women, and sits on board of two organizations.
