Here are three tips for helping your children cope with stress during this difficult and confusing time.
- Tip #1: Be honest with your children. Explain exactly what’s going on, and make sure they hear of new developments from you first. Try to explain this in a clear, concise, and age appropriate manner.
- Tip #2: Ask your children how they’re feeling. Ask them if they’re worried, sad, scared, happy, angry. Give them the space to share their feelings, and then let them know that it’s okay to feel that way.
- Tip #3: This is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your children, as much as your work and their school allows. Find out what they like to do, and make an effort to do that activity with them while safely indoors. (Image source – NAMI)
