Exam Stress

Happy first day of May!

May is also Mental Health Awareness Month, so Sanjeevani4U will be posting mental health related youth stories twice a week every Saturday and Wednesday. Today’s topic is exam stress.

Many students have various exams to take during the course of this month. This may include ACT/SAT testing, AP exams, final exams, and more. As a junior in high school, I understand the stress many of you are facing. It’s overwhelming. While my school has decided to cancel final exams this semester, I still have 5 AP exams to study for. Definitely not a walk in the park. Sometimes, I get frustrated and anxious. I wonder, will I do good on my exams?

Know that it’s OKAY to feel this way. You can feel anxious, nervous, etc. The next step is finding ways to manage these emotions. Some methods I find helpful is planning out my schedule. I write down each task I need to complete and cross it out as I finish it. I find this super satisfying. There are also many different studying techniques such as the Pomodoro technique and the Active-Recall technique. These methods may help you gain confidence in your studying habits. Finally, make sure you relax in between studying. That’s all for today.

Stay tuned for Wednesday’s post on maintaining a good school-life balance! #exams #examstress #mentalhealthawareness #studying #mentalhealth #sanjeevani4u. 24×7 Helpline is 224-424-0050
